As Chelsea said, nice candid moment! Kind of thing we should put in the yearbook! Also, as Chelsea said the sun is causing you some issues. Most notably your shadow is evident on the subjects. By not having you standing between the sun and the subjects you would not get that shadow (you could just step three steps to either side and shoot at an angle towards them).
Also note how much sky is showing. The sky is note useful to the picture. Get in tighter to the subjects and show less superfluous content.

This is a cute candid moment, but you can see your shadow! Try shooting with the sun to your side.
